Some pics of Quacker's pen/palace/home
| We're going to "build a better duck house" in the Spring. It will have an enclosed structure with walls/windws that's connected to something like this chain link version. Then Quackers (and the friend/friends we plan to get for her) will have a place to go in if they need to and/or they can hang out in "yard" part. We're also going to rig up either a fenced area or a movable type fencing enclosure so that duckies can forage a bit. But they will ONLY be out doing that when one of us is home to check on them! The roof is chain link, which is wired to the sides.
The perimeter has an additional layer of 1/4 wire mesh over the chain link to prevent racoons and others from reaching in. |

There's a layer of rocks against the outer walls along the perimeter and the walls on the back half of the house are actually buried a few inches in the ground.
